Aurelio Pedrazzini


Aurelio Pedrazzini born in Milan on July 29th, 1927.
After graduating at the Liceo Artistico, he woked for a few years for the pottery company Richard Ginori, directing the department of ceramic decoration and for a ceramic factory in Vicenza .
From 1960 on, he pursued his activity as a free professionist always in the field of ceramic decoration. In the meanwhile he studied oil painting and initiates his artistic carrier with his wife Anna Pavesi which will become later on a notorious water color artist.
In 1966 he organized, together with his wife, the first painting exhibit at the Centro Culturale Artistico di Milano, exhibit that will be followed by a long series of others in prestigious galleries among which:
Ars Italica di Milano, piazza del Duomo.
Galleria d'arte "I Platani", Montecatini Terme.
Villa Carlotta A Tremezzo (Como lake).
Palazzo Serbelloni (Circolo della Stampa) Milano.
Villa Serbelloni Hotel di Bellagio (Como).
Villa Cipressi di Varenna, etc.

He performed a painting in fresco for the hospital of Feltre

In 1974, he founded together with his wife and other water color artists like Alfredo Zecca l'Associazione Italiana Acquarellisti (AIA) which was chaired by Professor Aldo Raimondi.
He participated as a founder member to various international congresses of water color painting associations from Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Iceland and Sweeden, in Bilbao and LilancĂ  in Spain, Dallas in Texas, in the Water Museum of Saint Petersburg in Russia, in the Museo Nacional de la Acuarela in Messico, and in Italy in the
Electric centrals (ENEL) of La Spezia e Maccagno(VA).
At the present time he still is an onorary member of this Association.

In 1975 he was asked by the Naradowe Museun of Cracovia in Poland for an oil painting and a watercolor painting by his wife (works that are located in the aisle dedicated to foreign art).

From 1987 up to 1998, upon request of the Municipality of Milan, he taught drawing and oil painting in the lecture rooms of the subway Lambrate (administrated by the Municipality of Milan).
After his wife's death in 1995, he dedicated himself entirely to improve his water color technique while maintaining his activity as a teacher at the Center "Fai da te" in Milano and in the head office of CRAL in Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele for the employees of the Milan Municipality.
From 1995 up to 1999, upon request of the color industry Ferrario, he made a series of didactic books untitled "Becoming Artists" describing various painting techniques using oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastel. These books were published by Fabbri Editori and are still available in art color stores.

From 2003 up to 2009, he held courses in drawing and in oil and water color painting at the Cultural Center "Accademia del tempo libero" at the Istituto Gonzaga of Milan.

In 2011 he was invited from the "Museo della carta e della filigrana di Fabriano" to hold a watercolor exhibit (August 30th - September 18th). During that time he also organized a watercolor workshop in the Museum's Library.
